Botanical Prints on Fabric with Natural Dyes

Thurs. Sept. 21, 2023
12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
$75.00

This workshop will focus on getting color and pattern on fabric through a process known as botanical printing or eco-printing. We will be rolling, binding, and steaming flower petals from dye plants to print the silk. Eco-printing is an environmentally friendly and sustainable way to create beautiful and unique textiles. It also allows for a more personal connection to nature and the materials used in the printing process. Dried flowers for you to choose from include plains coreopsis, orange cosmos, chamomile, and purple pincushion (scabiosa). Each participant will have one piece of fabric and one silk scarf to dye. All supplies and materials are provided. Workshop is limited to six people.
